Tryptophan is one of the nine essential amino acids that cannot be synthesised by the human body and can only be obtained through your diet.

Tryptophan encourages the release of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and melatonin, important for mood, appetite and sleep regulation. It is also required for proper nitrogen balance.
